Job Brief
As a Postal Mail Carrier, you will be responsible for sorting and delivering mail for the United States Postal Service (USPS) along established routes, using either a vehicle or walking. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work independently. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in delivery services or logistics, embodying a commitment to customer service and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Sort and organize mail and packages for delivery based on established routes.
- Deliver mail and packages to residential and business addresses in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and any undelivered items.
- Interact with customers to address inquiries and provide exceptional service.
- Report any issues or discrepancies with mail delivery to supervisors.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while operating a vehicle or walking.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and maintenance as required.
- Assist in training new postal service employees as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy packages (up to 70 lbs) and walk long distances.
- Prior experience in delivery, logistics, or customer service preferred.
- Familiarity with postal regulations and procedures is advantageous.
