Job Brief
As a Pool Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all patrons in and around swimming pools and recreational water areas. Your primary duties will include monitoring activities, enforcing safety rules, and providing immediate assistance in emergency situations. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and relevant lifeguarding certifications, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors.
Responsibilities
- Monitor pool areas to enforce safety regulations and provide a safe environment for swimmers.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and provide first aid and CPR as necessary.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of facilities and equipment to ensure compliance with health codes.
- Educate patrons about pool rules and safety procedures to prevent accidents.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning pool decks and checking water quality.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, attendance, and safety inspections.
- Assist in organizing recreational activities and programs for guests.
- Collaborate with other lifeguards and facility staff to enhance overall safety protocols.
Requirements
- Current lifeguard certification from a recognized organization (e.g., Red Cross, YMCA).
- CPR and First Aid certification required; additional training in emergency response preferred.
- Strong swimming skills and physical fitness to perform rescue operations.
- Excellent observational skills and the ability to remain alert for extended periods.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patrons.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Prior experience in a lifeguarding role or similar environment is advantageous.
