Job Brief
As a Pipe Fitter, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, altering, and repairing pipelines or pipe systems that transport water, steam, air, and other liquids or gases. This role requires a strong understanding of plumbing systems, mechanical control systems, and heating and cooling equipment. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in pipe fitting, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and install piping systems for water, steam, air, and other liquids or gases.
- Alter and repair existing pipelines to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
- Conduct inspections and tests on pipe systems to identify and resolve issues.
- Install heating and cooling equipment as well as mechanical control systems.
- Collaborate with engineers and other construction professionals to determine piping needs and specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of installations and repairs, adhering to safety regulations and industry standards.
- Provide guidance and training to apprentices and junior pipe fitters.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal plumbing codes.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Pipe Fitter or in a related role within the plumbing industry.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems and pipe materials.
- Certification in pipe fitting or relevant trade certifications preferred.
- Proficiency in using pipe fitting tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in various environmental conditions.
