Job Brief
As a Pipe Coverer, you will apply insulating materials to pipes, ductwork, and various mechanical systems to effectively control and maintain temperature. Responsibilities
- Measure and cut insulating materials to fit pipes and ductwork accurately.
- Install insulation on various mechanical systems to enhance thermal performance.
- Apply protective coverings to insulation to prevent moisture damage.
- Collaborate with project managers and other trades to ensure timely completion of insulation tasks.
- Conduct inspections on installed insulation to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols and guidelines.
- Document work progress and report any issues or discrepancies to supervisors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in insulation or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Pipe Coverer or in a similar insulation role.
- Knowledge of various insulating materials and their applications.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in construction sites.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
