As a Marionette Performer, you will captivate audiences by bringing puppets to life through skillful manipulation and storytelling. Responsibilities
- Manipulate marionettes with precision to create lifelike movements and expressions.
- Develop and rehearse engaging performances that tell compelling stories.
- Collaborate with directors, writers, and other performers to enhance production quality.
- Perform in various venues, adapting to different audience sizes and demographics.
- Engage with audiences before and after performances to enhance their experience.
- Maintain and care for marionette puppets and performance equipment.
- Participate in promotional events and community outreach to build audience engagement.
Requirements
- Proven experience in puppetry, theater, or a related performance art.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for effective marionette manipulation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with audiences.
- Ability to memorize lines and cues as well as improvise during performances.
- Knowledge of puppetry techniques and stagecraft.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- A degree or certification in Performing Arts, Theater, or related field is a plus.
