Job Brief
The Piano Regulator is responsible for the meticulous tuning and regulation of pianos to ensure optimal sound quality and performance. Responsibilities
- Tune pianos to achieve precise pitch and tonal quality according to industry standards.
- Regulate piano action for consistent touch and responsiveness across all keys.
- Inspect and diagnose mechanical issues within pianos, including hammers, dampers, and strings.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on pianos, including replacing worn parts and making adjustments.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their specific needs and preferences.
- Maintain detailed records of services performed and repairs needed for each instrument.
- Stay updated on industry trends, techniques, and best practices in piano tuning and regulation.
Requirements
- Proven experience in piano tuning and regulation, with a strong portfolio of previous work.
- Comprehensive knowledge of piano mechanics, including action systems, tuning processes, and sound production.
- Certification from a recognized institution or trade school in piano technology is preferred.
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precision work.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve mechanical issues effectively.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to meet client deadlines.
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with clients and provide high-quality customer service.
