As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in the healthcare team, assisting pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications. Responsibilities

  • Prepare medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, ensuring accuracy and compliance with prescription orders.
  • Measure, mix, count, and label medications while adhering to established protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of medications dispensed and inventory management to support pharmacy operations.
  • Assist in the preparation of sterile and non-sterile compounding as required.
  • Provide exemplary customer service by answering patient inquiries and addressing concerns related to medications.
  • Handle and process prescription orders efficiently, including verifying insurance information and processing payments.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy workspace, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Stay updated on pharmaceutical products, regulations, and industry trends to enhance professional knowledge.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a pharmacy technician program preferred.
  • Active pharmacy technician certification (e.g., PTCB or NHA) is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, medication dosage, and safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in using pharmacy software and technology for medication management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is a plus.
