Job Brief
As a Petroleum Refining Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating and controlling petroleum refining and processing units. This role requires expertise in managing manifold and pumping systems, conducting oil gauging and testing in storage tanks, and regulating the flow of oil into pipelines. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of refining processes, safety protocols, and equipment operation, with a focus on efficiency and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor petroleum refining equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Control manifold and pumping systems for the effective transfer of petroleum products.
- Gauge and test oil in storage tanks to maintain quality and regulatory compliance.
- Regulate the flow of oil into pipelines while adhering to safety and environmental standards.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
- Document operational data and report any anomalies to supervisory personnel.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to perform routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to promote a safe working environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in petroleum processing is preferred.
- Proven experience as a petroleum refining equipment operator or in a related field.
- Strong understanding of refining processes, equipment operation, and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and manuals.
- Proficient in measuring and testing equipment, as well as data recording practices.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various environmental conditions.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
