Job Brief
We are seeking a detail-oriented Parking Meter Collector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, servicing, adjustment, and repair of parking meters and related systems. This role requires a strong technical background and an ability to maintain accurate records of collections and repairs. The successful Parking Meter Collector will possess excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail, ensuring that parking meters are fully operational and compliant with local regulations.
Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair parking meters and associated equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify malfunctions and perform necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Collect and accurately record coin and payment transactions from parking meters.
- Maintain detailed logs of service activities, repairs, and collections for reporting purposes.
- Respond promptly to service calls and customer inquiries regarding parking meter issues.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and standards related to parking meter operations.
- Collaborate with municipal staff and other stakeholders to improve parking services.
- Provide training and support to junior staff on equipment handling and maintenance procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in electronics or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of electronic equipment, preferably in parking meter systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet service goals.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with the public and team members.
- Physical ability to lift and carry equipment and work in various outdoor conditions.
