Job Brief

The Oxidation Engineer is responsible for designing and optimizing chemical plant equipment and processes involved in the manufacturing of various chemicals and products, including gasoline, synthetic rubber, plastics, detergents, cement, paper, and pulp. This role requires a deep understanding of chemical engineering principles, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics, along with hands-on experience in process design and optimization. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in applying chemistry, physics, and engineering techniques to develop innovative solutions that enhance production efficiency and product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop chemical processes for the oxidation of materials to produce various chemicals and products.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to evaluate the viability of new processes and technologies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of chemical processes within existing systems.
  • Optimize process parameters to enhance yield, quality, and safety in chemical manufacturing.
  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed process flow diagrams and equipment designs.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot chemical processes to maintain operational efficiency and address any issues that arise.
  • Document and report research findings, technical data, and process modifications for regulatory compliance.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in chemical engineering and oxidation technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in chemical process design, particularly in oxidation processes.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical engineering principles, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
  • Familiarity with process simulation software and CAD tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting technical information clearly.
  • Relevant certifications in chemical engineering or process safety are a plus.
