Responsibilities
- Administer comprehensive oral hygiene care to patients, ensuring optimal oral health.
- Assess patient oral hygiene problems and needs through thorough evaluations.
- Educate patients on effective oral health maintenance and disease prevention techniques.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient health records in compliance with regulations.
- Provide advanced care, including fluoride treatments and administering topical anesthesia.
- Collaborate with dentists and other healthcare professionals to develop patient care plans.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and continuing education opportunities.
- Conduct oral health screenings and provide referrals to specialists as needed.
Requirements
- Valid state license to practice as an Oral Hygienist.
- Associate degree in Dental Hygiene or equivalent qualification from an accredited program.
- Proven experience as an Oral Hygienist or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of dental hygiene practices, tools, and technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a dental team environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Certification in CPR and basic life support is preferred.
