Job Brief
The Stage Electrician plays a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures used in live performances and events. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical codes and safety standards, as well as hands-on experience in the entertainment industry. Responsibilities
- Install and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with industry standards and codes.
- Conduct routine inspections and repairs of electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Collaborate with production teams to set up and dismantle lighting and electrical equipment for events.
- Install and service street lights, intercom systems, and electrical control systems as required.
- Monitor electrical systems for faults and troubleshoot issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working in various settings, including theaters and outdoor venues.
- Document all maintenance and repair work performed on electrical systems.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior electricians and crew members.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Stage Electrician or in a similar role within the entertainment industry.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and equipment used in stage settings.
- Familiarity with relevant safety standards and electrical codes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Certification in electrical work or relevant technical training preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by production schedules.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
