Job Brief

We are seeking a highly skilled Optical Scientist to conduct advanced research into physical phenomena related to optics. In this role, you will develop innovative theories based on rigorous observation and experimentation, while devising methods to apply physical laws and principles to real-world applications. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in optical physics and a strong foundation in experimental design and data analysis, as well as excellent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on optical systems and phenomena, including light propagation, wave optics, and quantum optics.
  • Develop and test hypotheses through design and execution of experiments.
  • Analyze experimental data to validate theories and improve optical technologies.
  • Create and implement optical models using computational tools and software.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate optical solutions into broader projects.
  • Prepare technical reports, research publications, and presentations to communicate findings effectively.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in optics and related fields.
  • Mentor junior researchers and provide guidance on experimental techniques and data interpretation.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Optical Science, Physics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in experimental optics and photonics.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis software and programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, or LabVIEW.
  • Expertise in optical design software (e.g., Zemax, Code V) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities for technical documentation and presentations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Research experience with peer-reviewed publications is preferred.
