Job Brief
As an Oil Rig Roughneck, you will play a vital role in the drilling operations by assembling and repairing oil field equipment using hand and power tools. Responsibilities
- Assist in the assembly and disassembly of drilling equipment and tools.
- Perform regular maintenance and repairs on oil field machinery and equipment.
- Work collaboratively with the drilling crew to ensure efficient operations.
- Follow safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Monitor equipment performance and report any issues to the rig supervisor.
- Participate in rig cleaning and housekeeping activities to maintain operational standards.
- Support the crew in the transport of materials and equipment as needed.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned by supervisors to support drilling operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in oil and gas operations or related fields is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to work long hours and be on call as required.
- Certification in safety training programs (e.g., H2S Awareness, First Aid) is preferred.
