Job Brief
The Ocean Program Administrator is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities within the fields of life sciences, physical sciences, and research and development related to oceanic studies. This role requires experience in project management and a strong understanding of marine sciences, statistical analysis, and environmental research. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement program strategies to enhance ocean research and sustainability initiatives.
- Coordinate research projects and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
- Manage budgets, timelines, and resources for various oceanic programs and projects.
- Collaborate with scientists, researchers, and stakeholders to support data collection and analysis.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Monitor and evaluate program performance, making adjustments as necessary to achieve goals.
- Facilitate training and workshops for team members and external partners on best practices in ocean research.
- Stay current on trends and developments in marine sciences and ocean policy to inform program direction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in program administration or project management in a research or scientific environment.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical analysis software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
- Knowledge of ocean conservation issues and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with budget management and resource allocation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
- Certifications related to marine sciences or project management (e.g., PMP, CAPM) are a plus.
