Job Brief

The Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) plays a vital role in supporting licensed occupational therapists in the delivery of effective occupational therapy treatments and procedures. Responsibilities

  • Assist occupational therapists in the execution of individualized treatment plans and therapeutic interventions.
  • Conduct therapeutic activities and exercises under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist.
  • Document patient progress and report any changes in patient health status to the supervising occupational therapist.
  • Prepare and maintain treatment areas and equipment to ensure a safe and effective therapeutic environment.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding therapy goals and home exercise programs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and overall treatment outcomes.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on best practices in occupational therapy.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current certification or licensure as an Occupational Therapist Assistant as required by state regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational therapy principles, techniques, and patient care practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
  • Ability to document patient progress accurately and maintain confidentiality.
  • Physical stamina to assist patients with mobility and rehabilitation exercises.
  • Proficient in using standard office software and therapy-related equipment.
