Job Brief
As a Nuclear Radiation Engineer, you will conduct vital research on nuclear engineering projects, applying advanced principles and theories of nuclear science to address challenges related to the release, control, and utilization of nuclear energy, as well as the safe disposal of nuclear waste. Responsibilities
- Conduct research and development in nuclear engineering projects to innovate and improve nuclear energy applications.
- Analyze and interpret data related to nuclear radiation and energy production, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Design and implement systems for the management and disposal of nuclear waste, emphasizing environmental safety.
- Evaluate radiation shielding and protection measures to minimize exposure risks to personnel and the public.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies and industry stakeholders to ensure adherence to nuclear regulations and standards.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation, presenting findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Stay updated on advancements in nuclear technologies and methodologies, integrating new findings into ongoing projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering, Radiological Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in nuclear engineering, radiation safety, and waste management practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in relevant simulation and modeling software.
- Familiarity with federal and state regulations governing nuclear energy and radiation safety.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts clearly.
- Certification in Health Physics or related credentials is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
