Job Brief
As a Nonemergency Medical Transporter, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting passengers to and from medical appointments and facilities. This role requires excellent driving skills, a strong commitment to customer service, and the ability to assist passengers with mobility challenges. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in nonemergency medical transportation or a related field, possess effective communication skills, and demonstrate a compassionate demeanor.
Responsibilities
- Operate a motor vehicle to transport passengers for nonemergency medical appointments, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing support to those with mobility limitations.
- Maintain a clean and safe vehicle, adhering to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
- Collect fares when applicable and manage transportation records accurately.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, healthcare providers, and dispatch to ensure a smooth transportation experience.
- Document any incidents or issues during transport and report them to management promptly.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance driving skills and customer service capabilities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in transportation or healthcare is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to pass background checks.
- Experience in nonemergency medical transportation, patient transport, or a related field preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.
- Ability to lift and support passengers with mobility aids and equipment.
- Familiarity with local roadways and transportation routes.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred, with the willingness to obtain these certifications if not currently held.
