Job Brief
As a skilled MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for operating Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanners to capture high-quality images for diagnostic purposes. Your role involves ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process while effectively communicating MRI procedures. You will also be responsible for administering gadolinium contrast agents when necessary, accurately entering patient data into the system, and collaborating with radiologists to produce optimal imaging results. A strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Operate MRI scanners to obtain diagnostic images of patients’ anatomical areas.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort before, during, and after MRI procedures.
- Administer gadolinium contrast agents intravenously as required.
- Interview patients to gather medical history and explain MRI procedures.
- Position patients correctly on the examining table for optimal imaging quality.
- Review images for quality assurance and collaborate with radiologists for interpretation.
- Maintain and troubleshoot MRI equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Document patient information and imaging details in the computer system accurately.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Current certification as a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MRI) from a recognized board.
- Proven experience in MRI scanning and patient care in a clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of MRI safety protocols and patient comfort practices.
- Familiarity with MRI technology, software, and imaging techniques.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex procedures to patients.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented healthcare environment.
