Job Brief
The Molasses Preparer is responsible for setting up, operating, and tending to various continuous flow and vat-type equipment used in the extraction and separation of liquids, gases, and solids. This role requires hands-on experience with equipment such as filter presses, centrifuges, and evaporating tanks. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate continuous flow and vat-type equipment for molasses preparation.
- Monitor and adjust machinery settings to optimize production efficiency.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
- Filter, separate, and process liquids and solids to achieve product purity.
- Maintain accurate records of production data and equipment performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during operations.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve processes.
- Train new operators on equipment handling and safety protocols.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in food processing is a plus.
- Proven experience operating industrial processing equipment, preferably in molasses or food production.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in food processing environments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.
