Job Brief
As a Mining Engineer, you will conduct subsurface surveys to assess the geological characteristics of potential mining sites. This role requires expertise in designing safe, economical, and environmentally sound extraction processes, along with the ability to implement and oversee mine safety programs. Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed subsurface surveys to analyze geological formations and assess the viability of mining sites.
- Design and specify ground support systems, processes, and equipment for efficient and safe extraction.
- Evaluate and mitigate unsafe geological conditions, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Implement and coordinate mine safety programs to promote a safe working environment.
- Monitor and inspect mining operations to ensure adherence to environmental and safety standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize mining processes and resource utilization.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements in mining engineering.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in mining operations, including subsurface surveying and geological analysis.
- Strong knowledge of mining safety regulations and environmental compliance practices.
- Familiarity with mining software tools and modeling techniques.
- EIT (Engineer in Training) or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities for cross-functional collaboration.
- Willingness to work in diverse environments, including remote and underground locations.
