Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Mine Shuttle Car Operator to efficiently operate underground loading and moving machinery, including shuttle cars and conveyors, to transport core, ore, or rock materials. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in mining operations, a keen understanding of safety protocols, and the ability to work in challenging underground environments. Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential for collaborating with mine crews to ensure daily operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Operate shuttle cars, conveyors, and other underground loading equipment to transport materials safely and effectively.
- Monitor equipment performance and conduct routine inspections to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
- Load and unload materials from mine cars and other transport systems while adhering to safety standards.
- Collaborate with mining engineers and crew members to optimize material handling processes.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
- Follow established mining protocols and best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate records of material movement and equipment usage as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training or certification is a plus.
- Proven experience operating shuttle cars or similar underground mining equipment.
- Strong knowledge of mining safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including confined spaces.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
- Familiarity with maintenance procedures and basic mechanical skills.
