Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Metal Tank Erector to join our team, responsible for raising, placing, and uniting iron or steel girders, columns, and other structural components to construct metal storage tanks and prefabricated metal buildings. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in structural assembly and fabrication, along with the ability to work in diverse environments. Strong teamwork, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Raise and position metal structural members, including girders and columns, to form frameworks for metal tanks and buildings.
- Assemble prefabricated metal structures, ensuring accuracy and alignment during installation.
- Utilize cranes and other heavy machinery to lift and secure components in place.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure specifications and safety standards are met.
- Inspect and assess completed structures for structural integrity and compliance with construction standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and protocols.
- Document daily progress and report any issues or discrepancies to the site supervisor.
- Participate in safety training and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge in metal erection techniques.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Metal Tank Erector or in a similar construction role.
- Strong knowledge of metal fabrication, structural assembly, and erection techniques.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in construction and metalwork.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Proficient in operating cranes and other heavy lifting equipment.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual tasks and work at heights.
- Valid driver’s license and any required certifications for heavy machinery operation.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively on job sites.
