Job Brief
As a Medical Record Transcriber, you will play a crucial role in the healthcare documentation process by accurately transcribing medical reports recorded by physicians and other healthcare practitioners. Responsibilities
- Transcribe dictated medical reports from healthcare professionals, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Edit and format medical documents for clarity, coherence, and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Return finalized reports in printed or electronic form for review, signature, or correction.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of medical records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems and transcription software to streamline workflow.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in transcriptions.
- Continuously update knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and industry best practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical transcription preferred.
- Proficient typing skills with a minimum speed of 60 words per minute.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and healthcare documentation standards.
- Experience with transcription software and electronic health record systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong proofreading skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
