Job Brief
As a Medical Anthropologist, you will explore the intersection of health, culture, and society, conducting in-depth research to understand the origins, development, and behaviors of human populations. Responsibilities
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on health behaviors and practices in various cultural contexts.
- Analyze historical and contemporary medical practices through fieldwork, interviews, and participant observation.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and community organizations to develop culturally sensitive health interventions.
- Examine the effects of social determinants, such as race, ethnicity, and class, on health outcomes.
- Present research findings through reports, publications, and presentations to academic and community stakeholders.
- Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance understanding of health disparities.
- Stay updated on trends in medical anthropology and public health to inform research methodologies.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD degree in Medical Anthropology, Cultural Anthropology, or a related field.
- Experience in qualitative research methods, including ethnography and interviews.
- Strong understanding of public health principles and practices.
- Proficiency in data analysis software and tools.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with ethical research practices and cultural sensitivity in diverse communities.
