Job Brief
The Mechanical Engineering Technologist plays a crucial role in applying mechanical engineering principles to modify, develop, test, and adjust machinery and equipment. Responsibilities
- Apply engineering theories and principles to assess, modify, and improve mechanical systems and processes.
- Conduct tests and evaluations of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with engineers and scientists to design prototypes and develop specifications for new products.
- Utilize CAD software to create detailed technical drawings and models for mechanical components and systems.
- Analyze data and generate reports to support project objectives and engineering decisions.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues during the manufacturing process.
- Maintain documentation of engineering processes, modifications, and testing results.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements to enhance mechanical engineering practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineering Technologist or in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and engineering simulation tools.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Solid understanding of engineering principles, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities in a collaborative environment.
- Certification as a Certified Engineering Technician (CET) is a plus.
