Job Brief

The Meat Clerk is responsible for cutting, trimming, and preparing consumer-sized portions of meat for sale in retail establishments. Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their meat selections and inquiries.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering and stocking meat products as needed.
  • Operate meat processing equipment safely and efficiently, following all operational guidelines.
  • Label and price meat products accurately, ensuring compliance with labeling regulations.
  • Participate in team training and development to enhance product knowledge and preparation techniques.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant culinary or meat science education is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a meat clerk or in a similar role within the food retail industry.
  • Strong knowledge of meat cutting techniques and safe food handling practices.
  • Ability to operate meat cutting equipment and tools proficiently.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
