Job Brief
As a Marine Propulsion Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and adjusting electrical and mechanical systems of inboard and inboard-outboard boat engines. This role requires a solid understanding of marine propulsion systems, combined with hands-on experience in engine maintenance and troubleshooting. Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in marine propulsion systems.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on inboard and inboard-outboard engines.
- Conduct inspections and adjustments to optimize engine performance and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements in all repair activities.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with other technicians and marine professionals to enhance service quality.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify engine faults and malfunctions.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating repair processes and recommendations clearly.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in marine technology preferred.
- Proven experience in marine engine repair and maintenance, specifically with inboard and inboard-outboard systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical principles related to marine propulsion.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and repair manuals specific to marine engines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license; additional marine certifications (such as EPA certification) are a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
