Job Brief
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) provide essential care to ill, injured, or convalescing patients in various healthcare settings including hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and private homes. Working under the supervision of registered nurses, LPNs perform a variety of clinical tasks and assist in patient assessments to ensure quality healthcare delivery. Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Monitor and record patients’ vital signs and health status.
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and feeding.
- Collaborate with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to create and implement patient care plans.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding health management.
- Ensure proper sanitation and hygiene practices are followed in patient care.
- Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of medical equipment and supplies.
Requirements
- Valid LPN license in the state of practice.
- Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, with a focus on patient care.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of nursing practices and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic computer skills.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
