Job Brief
The Solar Thermal Installer is responsible for assembling, installing, altering, and repairing pipelines and pipe systems that transport water, steam, air, or other liquids and gases. This role includes the installation of heating and cooling equipment, mechanical control systems, and solar thermal systems to ensure efficient energy usage. Candidates should possess hands-on experience in plumbing or HVAC systems, along with a solid understanding of renewable energy technologies.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and install solar thermal systems, ensuring compliance with local codes and safety regulations.
- Install and maintain pipelines for water, steam, air, and other fluids, optimizing flow and efficiency.
- Alter existing piping systems to accommodate new solar thermal technologies and mechanical controls.
- Conduct routine inspections and troubleshooting of installed systems to ensure functionality and performance.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to design efficient solar thermal solutions.
- Provide excellent customer service and explain system operations to clients during and after installation.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in solar thermal energy systems.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Solar Thermal Installer or in a related HVAC or plumbing role.
- Strong understanding of solar thermal technology and installation practices.
- Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Technical skills in plumbing, pipefitting, and HVAC systems.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., NABCEP Solar Thermal Installer Certification) preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and team members.
