Job Brief

As a Log Cutter, you will play a crucial role in the forestry industry by efficiently cutting and processing timber according to established safety and quality standards. Responsibilities

  • Operate chainsaws and other cutting tools to fell trees in designated areas.
  • Assess tree health and size to determine optimal cutting techniques.
  • Clear underbrush and hazardous materials to ensure safety for logging operations.
  • Transport cut logs to processing areas using skid steers or trucks.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize productivity and workflow.
  • Document daily activities, including logs cut and safety incidents, for reporting purposes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in logging preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Log Cutter or in a similar forestry role.
  • Strong knowledge of logging equipment, including chainsaws, skidders, and feller bunchers.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and lift heavy materials.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and sustainable forestry practices.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate heavy machinery.
  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork ability.
