Job Brief
We are seeking a detail-oriented Loan Processor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for interviewing loan applicants, verifying their backgrounds, and preparing necessary loan documentation. The Loan Processor will ensure all loan papers are complete and facilitate smooth transactions between borrowers and sellers upon loan approval. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in loan processing software, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Conduct interviews with loan applicants to gather necessary information for loan processing.
- Investigate applicants’ backgrounds, including credit history, income verification, and references.
- Prepare and organize loan request documents for submission to underwriting and appraisal departments.
- Review loan applications for completeness and accuracy to ensure compliance with lending policies.
- Coordinate communication between loan applicants, lenders, and other stakeholders throughout the loan process.
- Manage and maintain loan files, ensuring all documentation is properly filed and accessible.
- Facilitate the closing process by preparing closing documents and ensuring all conditions are met.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to loan processing.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Loan Processor or in a similar financial services role.
- Strong understanding of loan processing procedures and regulations.
- Proficiency in loan processing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., NMLS, mortgage loan originator) are a plus.
