Job Brief
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides essential care for ill, injured, or convalescing patients in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and private residences. Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and registered nurses.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, health status, and medical histories.
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding health management.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner within electronic health records (EHR).
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice.
- Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction.
- Ability to work in fast-paced healthcare environments and handle emergency situations calmly.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical software.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is an advantage, but not required for entry-level positions.
