Responsibilities

  • Clean and disinfect animal cages, work areas, and equipment to maintain a sterile environment.
  • Administer medications orally or topically as directed by veterinary professionals.
  • Provide routine postoperative care and support for recovering animals.
  • Prepare biological samples for laboratory examination and assist with research protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of animal care and health status in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure the ethical treatment and welfare of all animals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in animal science or veterinary technology preferred.
  • Experience in animal care or laboratory settings is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of animal behavior, health, and care standards.
  • Ability to follow established protocols and guidelines accurately.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift and handle animals safely.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and sterilization techniques.
  • Certification in animal care or handling is a plus (e.g., AALAS certification).
