Job Brief
As a Jockey Valet, you will provide essential support to jockeys in the horse racing industry by ensuring that they have the necessary gear and equipment for races. Responsibilities
- Assist jockeys in preparing for races by providing gear, including helmets, silks, and boots.
- Ensure the cleanliness and readiness of all racing equipment before each event.
- Maintain inventory of jockey gear and report any damages or shortages to management.
- Support jockeys in mounting and dismounting horses safely and efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with trainers, horse owners, and track personnel regarding jockey needs.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations to ensure a secure racing environment.
- Provide assistance during training sessions and pre-race warm-ups.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in horse racing preferred.
- Strong knowledge of equestrian equipment and racing operations.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle equipment and assist jockeys effectively.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
