Job Brief
As an Isotope Technologist, you will play a crucial role in the preparation, administration, and measurement of radioactive isotopes for therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies. Responsibilities
- Prepare and administer radioactive isotopes for a variety of medical applications, including therapeutic and diagnostic studies.
- Measure and analyze the outcomes of tracer studies using state-of-the-art radioisotope equipment.
- Create and maintain stock solutions of radioactive materials while adhering to safety protocols.
- Calculate and verify doses of radioactive substances to be administered by licensed radiologists.
- Conduct blood volume, red cell survival, and fat absorption studies following established laboratory techniques.
- Monitor patient exposure to radiation and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Document and report findings accurately in accordance with laboratory policies.
- Collaborate with medical professionals to optimize treatment plans based on isotope measurements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine, or a related field.
- Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist or equivalent is preferred.
- Proven experience in handling radioactive isotopes and operating radioisotope equipment.
- Strong understanding of radiation safety protocols and laboratory best practices.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in conducting complex studies.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced medical environment.
- Effective communication skills for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration.
