Job Brief
The Induction Machine Setter is responsible for the precise setup, operation, and maintenance of induction heating equipment to heat treat metals and plastics. This role requires a keen understanding of heat treatment processes, including tempering, hardening, and annealing. Successful candidates will possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and experience in operating complex machinery within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate induction heating machines according to specifications and production requirements.
- Operate heat-treating furnaces, induction machines, and flame-hardening equipment to achieve desired metal properties.
- Monitor machine performance and adjust settings to ensure optimal heating cycles and product quality.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on induction machines to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate production records and log machine settings for quality assurance purposes.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards during machine operation and maintenance.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to improve heat treatment processes and equipment efficiency.
- Train and mentor junior staff on proper machine operation and safety procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in machine operation or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as an Induction Machine Setter or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of heat treatment processes, including tempering, hardening, and annealing.
- Experience with operating and maintaining induction heating equipment and other related machinery.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing setting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and management.
