Job Brief
As a Hotel Desk Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for guests at our hotel, motel, or resort. Your primary responsibilities include registering guests, assigning rooms, issuing keys, and managing reservations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, a strong attention to detail, and familiarity with hotel management software. This role requires effective communication skills to assist guests with inquiries, process payments, and maintain accurate records of occupied rooms and guest accounts.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests upon arrival and check them into their assigned rooms efficiently.
- Issue room keys or cards and provide information about hotel amenities and services.
- Manage reservations by making, modifying, or canceling bookings as necessary.
- Keep accurate records of room assignments, guest accounts, and payments received.
- Transmit and receive messages for guests, ensuring timely communication.
- Prepare and present guest statements upon departure and handle payment transactions.
- Respond promptly to guest inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk area.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in hospitality management is a plus.
- Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably in the hotel or hospitality industry.
- Familiarity with hotel management software and reservation systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective guest interactions.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic math skills for handling cash and processing payments.
