Job Brief

The Hospice Plan Administrator is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating medical and health services within hospice care settings. This role requires strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of healthcare regulations, and experience in managing multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards in hospice care.
  • Coordinate patient care services, ensuring effective communication between healthcare providers, families, and patients.
  • Oversee budget management, resource allocation, and financial performance of hospice programs.
  • Conduct staff training and development programs to enhance team performance and service delivery.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, implementing improvement strategies as needed.
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care plans and address any challenges.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of patient records and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Serve as a liaison between healthcare facilities, community organizations, and regulatory agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in healthcare management, preferably in hospice or palliative care settings.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, reimbursement processes, and quality assurance standards.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide diverse teams.
  • Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical billing software.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and families.
  • Certification in hospice and palliative care administration (e.g., CHPN, ACHPN) is a plus.
