Job Brief
The Historiography Professor is responsible for delivering comprehensive courses in human history and historiography while fostering an engaging learning environment for students. Responsibilities
- Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in historiography and related historical topics.
- Design curriculum that incorporates diverse perspectives and methodologies in historical analysis.
- Facilitate engaging class discussions and promote critical thinking among students.
- Conduct and publish original research in historical studies, contributing to academic discourse.
- Advise students on academic progress and career opportunities within history fields.
- Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and faculty committees.
- Engage in community outreach and public history initiatives to promote historical awareness.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in History, Historiography, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching at the college or university level.
- Proficiency in historical research methodologies and critical analysis.
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals or academic presses.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage with students from diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
- Familiarity with contemporary historiographical debates and methodologies.
