Job Brief
As a Hedge Trimmer, you will be responsible for maintaining the aesthetics and health of landscaped areas by expertly trimming and shaping hedges and shrubs. This role requires hands-on experience with both hand and power tools, a keen eye for detail, and a solid understanding of plant care. Ideal candidates will possess landscaping experience, strong physical stamina, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to enhance outdoor spaces.
Responsibilities
- Utilize hand and power tools to trim and shape hedges, shrubs, and ornamental plants.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as mowing, planting, and watering to promote healthy growth.
- Implement fertilization and pest control measures to maintain landscape health.
- Prepare and maintain grounds by digging, raking, and laying sod as needed.
- Install and maintain irrigation systems to ensure efficient water distribution.
- Collaborate with landscape designers to execute design plans and seasonal changes.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper use of equipment.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition through regular cleaning and repairs.
Requirements
- Proven experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance, specifically in hedge trimming.
- Strong knowledge of various plant species and their maintenance needs.
- Familiarity with landscaping tools and equipment, including power tools.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and a strong aesthetic sense for landscape design.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for traveling to job sites.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and proper handling of equipment.
