Job Brief
The Childcare Center Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a childcare facility, including planning, directing, and coordinating educational and recreational activities for children. This role requires a strong background in early childhood education, excellent leadership abilities, and effective communication skills. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for nurturing children’s development and maintaining high standards for safety and quality in childcare services.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate educational programs and curricula to enhance children’s learning and development.
- Supervise and train childcare staff, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Manage daily operations, including enrollment, budgeting, and compliance with state licensing regulations.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging environment for children, families, and staff.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children’s progress and any concerns.
- Coordinate before-and after-school care programs and activities for school-aged children.
- Conduct regular assessments and evaluations of programs and staff to ensure continuous improvement.
- Promote the center’s services and engage with the community to build strong relationships and partnerships.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in a childcare setting, with a minimum of 1 year in a leadership role.
- Knowledge of child development theories and best practices in early childhood education.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage daily operations effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications, as well as any required state-specific licenses.
- Proficiency in using technology for administrative tasks, including management software and communication tools.
