Job Brief
As a Hearing Officer, you will conduct formal hearings to evaluate claims related to government programs and other governmental matters. Responsibilities
- Conduct hearings and review evidence to make informed decisions on claims and disputes.
- Evaluate the credibility of witnesses and the relevance of documents presented during hearings.
- Analyze legal statutes and regulations to ensure compliance in decision-making processes.
- Prepare detailed written reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
- Engage with stakeholders to clarify issues and gather additional information as needed.
- Maintain impartiality and ensure a fair hearing process for all parties involved.
- Provide recommendations on sanctions, penalties, or the acceptance of claims.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting hearing procedures and outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in law, public administration, or a related field; Juris Doctor (JD) is preferred.
- Proven experience in administrative hearings, dispute resolution, or a related area.
- Strong understanding of government programs and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Familiarity with legal research tools and case management software.
- Strong ethical standards and a commitment to impartiality.
