Job Brief
We are seeking a dedicated Health Environmentalist to conduct thorough research and investigations aimed at identifying, abating, and eliminating environmental pollutants and hazards impacting public health. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in various scientific disciplines and will be skilled in collecting, analyzing, and reporting data derived from air, water, soil, and food samples. This role requires a proactive approach to environmental health challenges and a commitment to promoting sustainable practices.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive research to identify environmental pollutants and health hazards.
- Analyze data from various sources, including air, water, soil, and food, to assess environmental risks.
- Develop and recommend actionable strategies to mitigate environmental hazards.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with governmental and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with environmental health standards.
- Monitor environmental conditions and trends to inform public health initiatives.
- Educate the community on best practices for environmental health and safety.
- Stay updated on emerging environmental issues and advancements in research methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Public Health, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in environmental research or public health assessment.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data collection and statistical analysis.
- Familiarity with environmental laws, regulations, and compliance standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and presentations.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience with environmental monitoring tools and methodologies.
- Certifications such as Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) or Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) are a plus.
