Job Brief
As a Hardwood Floor Installer, you will be responsible for constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing hardwood flooring and various wooden structures. This role requires hands-on expertise in working with wood and comparable materials, alongside a keen eye for detail. Responsibilities
- Measure and prepare surfaces for hardwood floor installation, ensuring accurate dimensions and levels.
- Install hardwood flooring, including but not limited to, tongue-and-groove, nail-down, glue-down, and floating installations.
- Construct and repair structures made of wood, such as stairways, window and door frames, and building frameworks.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their flooring preferences and provide expert recommendations.
- Inspect and assess existing flooring conditions to determine necessary repairs or replacements.
- Maintain and operate tools and equipment used in flooring installation to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Finish installed floors, including sanding, staining, and sealing to achieve the desired look and protection.
- Adhere to safety standards and regulations while performing installation tasks in residential and commercial settings.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Hardwood Floor Installer or similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of hardwood flooring materials, installation techniques, and maintenance practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools related to flooring installation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle various installation tasks.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Certification in flooring installation or relevant training is a plus.
