Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Hard Chrome Plater to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and tending plating machines to coat metal or plastic products with chromium and other metals. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of plating processes, attention to detail, and experience in maintaining high-quality standards to protect and enhance product surfaces.
Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate plating machines for optimal performance and precision.
- Operate plating equipment to coat products with chromium, zinc, copper, cadmium, nickel, or other metals.
- Monitor and maintain the plating process, ensuring adherence to safety and quality guidelines.
- Inspect finished products for defects and perform necessary adjustments to meet specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of production processes, including chemical usage and equipment performance.
- Conduct routine maintenance on plating machines to ensure their efficiency and longevity.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues.
- Adhere to environmental and safety regulations pertaining to plating operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in plating technology is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Hard Chrome Plater or similar role in the plating industry.
- Strong knowledge of various plating techniques and metal finishing processes.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and environmental regulations related to plating operations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
