As a Grief Counselor, you will provide compassionate support and guidance to individuals navigating the difficult process of grief and loss. Previous experience in counseling, psychology, or social work, along with relevant certifications, is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to support clients experiencing grief and loss.
  • Assess client needs and develop personalized treatment plans to address their emotional and psychological challenges.
  • Utilize therapeutic techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness to facilitate healing.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support during acute grief reactions.
  • Educate clients and families about the grieving process and available resources to aid in recovery.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress in compliance with ethical standards and confidentiality regulations.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Valid state license or certification to practice as a counselor or therapist.
  • Proven experience in grief counseling or a related therapeutic setting.
  • Strong knowledge of grief theories, psychological principles, and counseling techniques.
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills.
  • Empathy and sensitivity towards clients dealing with loss.
