Job Brief
As a Greenskeeper Supervisor, you will oversee and coordinate the activities of landscaping and groundskeeping personnel to ensure the maintenance of high-quality outdoor spaces. This role requires a strong background in turf management, equipment operation, and landscaping techniques. You will be responsible for managing workforce allocation, reviewing service contracts, and providing cost estimates based on materials, labor, and machinery. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills and a thorough understanding of horticulture practices.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily groundskeeping activities to maintain golf courses, parks, and other landscaped areas.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of landscaping staff, providing training and guidance as needed.
- Review service contracts to determine material, labor, and equipment requirements for projects.
- Prepare detailed estimates for landscaping projects, including labor and material costs.
- Address customer inquiries regarding landscaping methods, materials, and pricing options.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in groundskeeping operations.
- Manage inventory of landscaping supplies and equipment maintenance schedules.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules for turf, plants, and other landscape features.
Requirements
- Proven experience in groundskeeping or landscaping management, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of horticulture, turf management, and pest control methods.
- Experience with landscaping equipment and machinery operation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction and team leadership.
- Ability to develop and manage budgets for landscaping projects.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and environmental practices relevant to landscaping.
- Certifications in horticulture or turf management are a plus.
- Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
