Job Brief
The Grader Operator is responsible for operating various types of power construction equipment, including motor graders, bulldozers, and front-end loaders, to efficiently excavate, move, and grade earth materials. This role requires hands-on experience in construction and equipment operation, with a strong focus on precision and safety. Ideal candidates will demonstrate proficiency in maintaining and repairing machinery, ensuring optimal performance on-site, and possess excellent problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Operate motor graders, bulldozers, scrapers, and other heavy equipment to execute grading, excavation, and material handling tasks.
- Ensure the accurate grading of surfaces to specifications while adhering to safety standards and regulations.
- Inspect and maintain equipment before and after use, conducting minor repairs as needed.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members to facilitate efficient project completion.
- Monitor and report equipment performance and maintenance needs to prevent downtime.
- Utilize surveying tools to assess land conditions and determine grading requirements.
- Assist in the training of junior operators on equipment operation and safety protocols.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training is a plus.
- Minimum of [X] years of experience as a Grader Operator or similar role in the construction industry.
- Valid driver’s license and, where applicable, heavy equipment operator certification.
