Job Brief
We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Governess to provide personalized care and education for children in various environments, including private households, schools, and childcare institutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in child development, with experience in overseeing daily activities such as dressing, feeding, bathing, and engaging children in play and educational activities. The Governess will be responsible for fostering a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment that promotes the physical, emotional, and intellectual growth of children.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and assist children with daily routines, including dressing, feeding, and hygiene.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities and play sessions.
- Monitor children’s behavior and development, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for children to play and learn.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children’s progress and needs.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to foster children’s self-esteem and confidence.
- Collaborate with other caregivers or educators to ensure cohesive care and education.
- Handle any emergencies or challenging situations with professionalism and care.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in a caregiving or educational capacity.
- Strong knowledge of child development principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create engaging educational activities tailored to individual children’s needs.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
- Flexibility to adapt to varying schedules and environments.
- Background check clearance and references from previous employers.
